Where we fish -
We follow the walleye schools throughout their migration. Starting in the western basin in the spring, moving eastward around the islands, and finally into the central basin during the summer. We reverse this in the fall and winter, moving back westerly following the large schools as the water cools. Therefore, we do not fish out of a fixed location as many charters do. However, our home base is in Lakeside Marblehead, but as mentioned above the boat moves with the fish.
What you can expect walleye fishing in the spring -
The walleye spawn begins in April. Walleye can usually be found in large groups around the shallower waters of the western basin of Lake Erie. The walleye are usually between 18-28 inches and range from 4-8 pounds. But that is not to say you couldn't hook with a trophy walleye (30 inches or more) during this time.
What you can expect walleye fishing in the summer -
Even though the temperatures are warming up the walleye are still plentiful! During this time the walleye move from their spawning locations in the western basin into the central basin of Lake Erie where food is abundant. While the fish are in deeper water they are still very catchable.
What you can expect walleye fishing in the fall -
Walleye fishing in the fall begins to get little more sporadic as the fish are trying to get settled into the new temperature changes of the water. Anglers will still catch plenty of good size fish. In late fall the walleye bite picks up again and the larger fish start moving back in - usually just in time for the Fall Brawl and Walleye Slam tournaments.
What you can expect walleye fishing in the winter -
What can you expect? Too freeze your butt off lol - nope not anymore! Our new cold weather boat has a heated cabin to cut the chill while you wait for that trophy walleye to hit the baits. If you can bear the cold and Lake Erie hasn't started icing over, it is usually some of the best fishing.
